ZEMİN Privacy Policy
ZEMİN Privacy Policy
Learn what information is processed when you use ZEMİN, how location permission is used and what choices are available to you.
Effective date: 2 September 2026
Scope and responsible unit
This policy explains the practices of the ZEMİN mobile application and the Disaster Law Information Platform concerning personal data and device permissions. The platform is provided as part of TÜBİTAK research project 323K124, coordinated by İnönü University Department of Political Science and Public Administration.
For privacy and personal-data requests, you can contact the project management at gitmezemin@gmail.com.
Data the application does not collect
ZEMİN does not create user accounts or profiles, display advertising, or use tracking technologies for advertising or user-behaviour analytics.
Location permission
Location permission is requested only when you tap “Continue” after the explanation on the Support Points screen. Your approximate location is processed on your device to rank the nearest free legal support points. Your location coordinates are not sent to or stored on the project team's servers and are not used to create a user profile.
You may decline location permission or revoke it later in your device settings. You can continue searching by selecting a province without granting permission.
Contact and email
When you use a contact link, the email application on your device opens. Information you choose to send, such as your name, email address, organisation and message, is processed only to review and respond to your request. The application cannot access unsent drafts or other emails on your device.
Correspondence may be retained for as long as necessary to resolve the request and meet applicable legal or administrative obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Technical logs and external links
When web pages and downloadable documents are delivered, hosting and security providers may process limited technical data such as IP address, device or browser type, request time and error logs to keep the service secure and available. These logs are not used for advertising or to build user profiles.
The application may contain third-party links to legislation, institutions, support points and documents. When you open such a link, the privacy terms of the relevant service provider apply.
Legal basis and your rights
Personal data is processed to communicate with you at your request, provide the service securely and meet applicable legal obligations, on the relevant legal grounds under Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698.
You may send requests to access, correct, erase or destroy personal data, object to processing, or exercise other rights under Article 11 of Law No. 6698 to gitmezemin@gmail.com. Depending on the request, you may be asked to verify your identity.
Changes
This policy will be updated if the application's features or data practices change. The current version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
